In 1996, IPMN was defined by the World Health Organization as “an intraductal papillary mucin-producing neoplasm, arising in the main pancreatic duct or its major branches” (, 6 ). IPMN represents a spectrum of disease from small benign adenomas through aggressive and lethal invasive carcinomas.
